General Coordinator of NICAMEX Mr. Marcel TCHUISSEU, General Manager of Africa Business Club.

While thanking all the participants of this day, the guests from all walks of life and the stakeholders present and absent, the General Coordinator of NICAMEX wished to underline the importance of acting through an event of this nature, to exploring, diversifying and strengthening the historical and multifaceted ties between Nigeria and Cameroon. To this end, he declared: "The NICAMEX, of which we are today launching the operations of the second edition, was a baby conceived more than ten years ago, when the idea of building a specific exhibition came to us. , dedicated to the detection, selection, prioritization and connection of structures, natural and legal persons who, between these two great countries, are on their way to doing business together. The first edition was held here in Yaoundé from December 05 to 12, 2016. In its nature and scope, the event is indeed designed and given to be seen as the only multi-sector economic and commercial showcase and bilateral exchanges uniting Cameroon and Nigeria, since independence. An event without equal in size, intensity and projection, bringing together two countries and even, both characterized by the full development of their respective markets, united by a border of more than 1,600 km, as well as a long tradition of human, air, sea and land exchanges weighing more than 400 billion annually. This means that the non-existence, until then, of such a manifestation was an anomaly, which we have undertaken to resolve.

Also, we are considering holding this 2nd edition in November 2023 instead in Yaoundé in Cameroon, after its postponement scheduled for 2019 in Lagos, because of the Covid-19. Our idea is to bring all companies from all sectors, public and private organizations, employers' representations, researchers and individuals of all kinds, installed and operating in each of these two countries, to show the best of its know-how. and its ability to export across their common border. This will take shape in a series of exhibitions, conferences and round tables, B-to-B meetings and a university colloquium dedicated to the archeology of economic and political relations between the two countries. The interest therefore being, as you can imagine, for each of the two countries, to generate a series of strategic partnerships of all kinds, between the various stakeholders and the public and private organizations committed to the development, broader social relations, economic and political relations between the two countries".
